What can we do for you?

Services offered include:

·         Help designing a study to test the research question that interests you.

·         Evaluating a study design you created on your own to check for potential threats to validity.

·         Help determining what type of analysis would be appropriate for the data you are collecting.

·         Directing you to resources that can help you learn about a particular type of analysis.

·         Tutoring you in the use of statistical software (such as SPSS or SAS) to analyze your data.

·         Help interpreting the statistics reported by others in past research.

·         Answering general questions about research methods, study design, and data analysis.

Who can use our service?

·         Anyone conducting research at the University of Alabama.

·         Includes faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students.

·         Sorry, we don't provide help with homework assignments!

How do you get our help?

·         If you have a simple question, you should email Haley Ford (statcon@bama.ua.edu) who will either answer your question directly or forward it on to Jamie.

·         If you think you will need an in-person consultation to get your questions answered, email Haley at statcon@bama.ua.edu to schedule a meeting.

·         If you would like to obtain extended consulting, you should email Haley at statcon@bama.ua.edu to arrange an initial meeting. Both Haley and Jamie will attend this meeting, and we suggest that all collaborators, such as a student's faculty advisor, attend as well. During this meeting, we will jointly decide what assistance is needed and how the consultants will divide the responsibilities.
